SWEET TREAT WINNERS

The following Library patrons were draw to receive a sweet treat of their choice off our sweet bulletin board. Winners include: Louis Jones, Sharolyn Troutman, Megan Wendt, Conley Cuellar, annika Solomon, London Blomstedt, Ophelia Siegfried, Aaron Spencer, Rylynn Morgan, Joel Clause and Lydia Thieszen. Also being drawing to satisfy their sweet tooth are Hannah Ralston, Emilia Mahrt, Luis Almanza, Analia Almanza, Jaylee Hammond, Taron Galarneau, Bharmi Gopaldas, Wesley Musgrave, Kristin Fulkerson, Michael Fulkerson, Sara Frank and Acacia Frank. Congratulations to the winners and ENJOY!!!!!

Coloring Contest Results

Children’s Book Week brought lots of artists who participated in the coloring contest. Results are as follows:

4th-5th Grade-1st-Violet Stevens, 2nd-Axel Blomstedt, 3rd-Savannah McCarty. Other were .Connar Mason

2nd-3rd Grade-1st-Rinlee Blomstedt, 2nd-Lily Spencer, 3rd-Sage Tidyman. Other participating include: Isabella Grassia and Atlas Mason.

K-1st Grade-1st-Acacia Frank, 2nd-Niahlee Guana, 3rd- Aiden McCarty. Others were Boone Vontz, Isaac Grassia, Cyrus Galarneau and London Blomstedt.

Preschool-1st-Emily Spencer, 2nd-Mila Guana, 3rd-Ryker Vontz. Other coloring were: Taron Galarneau, Jensen Weintz, Hope Tidyman, Henry Tidyman, Makinlee Grassia, Gracelyn McCarty, Mallory Mai, Ella Wilson and Alex Johnson.

READING CHALLENGE

First through 8th Graders were challenged to read 15 books in seven weeks at the McCook City Library. We had 14 readers complete their challenge. The received a bag with books, worksheets, Dr. Seuss pencil bag, pencil, notepad, eraser, bookmarks and of course lots of treats to enjoy when they read again. They also had to answer questions about the books read to get their punch card punched.

Readers participating and completing the task include: Jackson Blomstedt, Hannah Ralston, Nathan Blomstedt, Alice Weimer, Zander Ralston, Eli Graff, Britton Blomstedt, Cyrus Galarneau, Piper Henderson, Axel Blomstedt, Xander Galarneau, Violet Stevens, Rinlee Blomstedt and Luis Almanza.

Christmas Drawing Winners

Books, prizes, and treats were among the bags that were in the Christmas drawing at the McCook City Library.

Thirteen and younger winners were: Wesley Benes, Britton Blomstedt, Jacob Blomstedt, Oliver, Cuellar, Cole Davidson, Katie Fulkerson, Damien Kennedy, Gemma Kennedy, MadelynMatson, Hannah Marts, Lennon Mustion, Weston Olson, Jeff Pate, Zander Ralston, Hazel Rotter, Finley Rupe, Emily Spence, Derrick Spencer, Violet Stevens and Blake Willis.

Winners in the fourteen and older category were: Norma Acton, Lainie Allen, Evie Caldwell, Fenella Flaherty, Rachel Hidy, Kaiden Porter, Diane Purvis, Leah Spencer, Bonnie Terry and Beverly Teter.

New Hours at the Library

We have extended our hours for our patrons.

Monday-Thursday 8:30am-6:00pm

Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Saturday & Sunday Closed

New Guidelines Begin Sept 8

In an effort to assure the library, its staff and patrons are prepared and protected when reopening to the public, the following guidelines have been set up.

Shortened Library Hours at this time:

Monday – Thursday 8:30 am-6:00 pm

Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm

Saturday & Sunday Closed

*Weekday mornings from 9-10 am will be for “Seniors and Vulnerable Citizens.” Please respect this time we have set aside for them.

*North and South Entrances will be open.

*Patrons will be asked to use hand sanitizer when entering the building.

*Incoming material will be dropped off at entrance and quarantined for 24 hours.

*Number of library patrons will be limited to 30.

*Patrons are encouraged to wear masks. Masks will not be provided.

*Children under 14 years of age will be allowed in the building at this time under the direct supervision of parent or individual 18 years of age. Please avoid extra handling of items.

*Patrons will keep visits limited to 30 minutes. Visits limited to one time per day.

*Public restrooms and drinking fountains will remain closed.

*No Public Telephone.

*Public computers will be limited to 30 minutes and only 2 patrons at a time. One visit per day per person. Call to make reservation. (308-345-1906)

*Newspapers, magazines will be available for limited use.

*Chairs, tables and couches will be arranged for social distancing.

*Printer and copier will be available.

*Curbside service and Homebound Delivery will still be available to those wishing to continue with these services.

*Printer and copier will be available. Patrons may retrieve copies at the front desk. Copies will be made by staff with only staff touching copy machine.

*Curbside service and Homebound Delivery will still be available to those wishing to continue with this service.

CHILDREN’S BOOK WEEK

Help us celebrate CHILDREN’S BOOK WEEK (May 4-8) from afar at the McCook City Library. Keep up with your reading by checking out books from the library and receive a book week surprise. We are still doing curbside service, so give us a call, tell us what you would like, or go to our online catalog at libraries.ne.gov/mccook and choose a title. Place your order by phone (345-1906) or e-mail at mlibrary@cityofmccook.com and call us when you get here on the south side and we will bring your items out to you. Curb Side Service

The McCook City Library would like to help serve our patrons at this time by offering Curb Side Pickup. Starting Wednesday March 18 we will be offering curb side pickup for books, dvds and magazines. Hours for pickup will be 9am-4pm, Monday thru Friday.

Just call us at (345-1906) and tell us how we can help you and we will ge materials ready for you to pick up. If you could call when you arrive or tell us a time and what vehicle you will be in, we will watch for you and bring yout items out. You can use our website libraries.ne.gov/mccook and look at our online catalog to see what is available to help make your selections.

We do have the drop box for items that is located on the south side of the building. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we are here to help during this time. PHONE NUMBER 345-1906.
