As some of you may have already heard, April 30th will be my last day with the Commission as I have accepted the position of Director of Technology with Do Space in Omaha, NE.
This project is something I have been with since conception and has been one of the highlights of my time here at the Commission. If there was one project I could take with me this would be it.
For the foreseeable future, your new contact here will be Diane Wells. Diane has also been with the project since the beginning, just behind the scenes. (If I’ve ever said to you “let me look into that and get back to you” that probably meant that I needed to discuss the issue with Diane.) Starting May 1, if you have any questions or problems with you site, just drop her a line and she’ll be happy to help.
Thanks for all of your support and I look forward to watching your sites continue to grow in the future.
Please say hello to our latest member: Creighton Public Library
Two in two weeks! Say hello to Yutan Public Library and their minimal yet elegant theme.
Let’s all say hello to our newest participating library: Albion Public Library!
Quite a while back I installed Jetpack which allowed interested sites to have their posts automatically post to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter via the Publicize function. In the past week I’ve had two libraries report that this no longer seems to be working for them. In both cases, the connection between Jetpack and WordPress.com has been lost.
So, if this is a feature that you previously set up, please make sure that it’s still working. You can do this by checking to see if your most recent post was sent to your social media site(s). If not, log into your dashboard and select Jetpack from the menu. If you see a large green area at the top of the page telling you to “Connect to Get Started” this means your connection has been lost and needs to be reestablished.
The Setting Up Jetpack and Publicize videos will walk you through the steps needed to get you up and running again. You will need your WordPress.com account login information to get this to work. (There is no need to sign up for another WordPress.com account.)
If you also were using the Statistics and/or Subscription services from Jetpack, you may need to set those up again too.
Well folks, it looks like it was the SEO plugin that was causing the problem so we’ve had to completely uninstall it. Everything should be back to normal at this point. If not, please let us know.

We believe this problem has been resolved now.

We have discovered that Web sites are loading but if you click on a blog post’s title to get to the full post, browsers are timing out. We are aware of the problem and are actively working on a solution.
Please take a moment to say hello to our most recent addition to the project: Beaver City Public Library!
Here’s a video you might like share on your library’s site. Just paste URL into a new post, give it a title, and you’ll be good to go.
Once again it is my pleasure to welcome a new library to the project: Brunswick Public Libary
