Summer Reading Program – Ages 3-8

Each Summer the library sponsors a Summer Reading Program for children ages 3 to 8 years old. Sign up is generally the last two weeks of May and all children who participate will receive a goodie bag. Summer Reading events usually take place every Wednesday in June.

Theme for 2019: Space – “A Universe of Stories”

Summer Reading Program – Ages 9-18

The library sponsors a Summer Reading Program for kids ages 9 to 18 years old. This is an on-going program through the month of June with a chance for kids to win prizes for participating. Each participant who completes the Summer Reading requirement gets entered in for the grand prize drawing.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

An on-going reading program for children birth – Kindergarten. This program is part of a national initiative, which encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he/she enters school. Every child that signs up will receive a book bag and binder to keep track of what you read to your child. After each 100 books the child will receive a small token/prize for completing the current reading goal.

Friday Game Days

The library will be hosting Friday Game Days every Friday during Summer Break starting at 1:00 p.m. Everyone (age 5 and up) is welcome to join us at the library as we play different board and card games. Choose from classic games like Uno or Jenga, or challenge one another to newer games like Gloom, Exploding Kittens, or Zombie Dice. Games will be provided, but feel free to bring your own!
