Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from the staff at the McCook City Library. The Library will  close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 25th and reopen on Monday, Nov. 30th. Enjoy time with family and friends.

The McCook City Library Halloween Book Drawing winners have been announced. The McCook City Library’s south entrance will be closed starting Thursday, October 15- Tuesday, October 20 for a remodeling project. Please use the north entrance and park in our new parking lot. YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Once again patrons from the McCook City Library have came through and supported us. Thank you so much for supporting us on RUNZA DAY on Aug. 25th. We will receive $449.31 to spend on children’s books. We are thrilled to have loyal patrons to support us. Thanks again and we cannot wait till next year. Also many thanks and appreciation to Runza Restaurants for this promotion.

The McCook City Library will be closed Saturday thru Monday (September 5-7, 2015) for the Labor Day weekend. Enjoy!!! Reminder the library will begin it’s winter hours starting Tuesday, Spetember 8th.

Hours are:

Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.

The McCook Public Library will be closed Saturday, September 5th and Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.

Volunteers Abundant at the Library

This years Summer Reading program was benefited by several volunteers. They include: Mary Dueland, Leigh Farrell and Sharon Bohling. We also had youth from the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) that spent some time with us this summer helping with reading, crafts and games. They included: Katie Kjendal, Emily Kjendal, Lexi Hauxwell, Rozelynn Latta, Collin Doak, Baylor Winters, Lydia Risenhoover, Smantha Gapp and Brianna Hazen. A very big thank you and much appreciation for their time and help.

Summer Reading Ends with Readers Galore

The final count for the McCook City Library’s Summer Reading Program is in. We hosted 40 children in Kindergartner’s Unite (going to Kindergarten in the fall); 102 in 1st and 2nd grades; 77 in 3rd and 4th grades and 51 in 5th and 6th grades, with a grand total of 270. Top readers include: Kindergartner’s Unite-Axel Blomstedt, Arianna Donvito, Hannah Peterson, Trev Wiemers, Zane Montes, Tekoa Hazlitt, Ellie Havlicek, Akarii Colburn, Kevin Wolfe and John White. First and second graders are: Rambler Farr, Brianna Stecker, Jackson Blomstedt, Skylar Smith, Kamryn Clapp, Cali Crawford, Truman Hancock, Isiah Scarbrough, Aiden Lauer, Paige Broomfield, Abby Sedlacek and Otto Matson. Third and fourth grader top readers include: Mykuh Hanson, Isabella Scollard, Abigail Gross, Hannah Thompson, Noah Ladd, Lacey Rouse, Isabelle Clause, Lincoln Michaelis, Davien Hanson, Danika Havlick and fifth and sixth graders are: Maxwell Weimer, Chesney Latta, Faith Sorenson, Avery Broomfield, Tucker Gillespie, Shelbi Hazlitt, Jachin Scollard, Kaelin Storrs, Joanan Scollard and Aiden Barger.
