September is National Preparedness Month and we want to make sure everyone in our community is ready for any emergency or disaster. Join us Friday, September 19, 2014 at noon for a Brown Bag Lunch about emergency preparedness. Laura McDougall from the Four Corners Health Department will be here to share little known facts about emergencies and what to have in an emergency kit. Did you know that text messages have a better chance of getting through during an emergency than a phone call? Do you take a charger with you to the basement in case you spend an extended amount of time waiting out a storm? Laura will cover these tips and many more.
September lapsit for 1-4 year olds will be held on the 18th at 10:30 a.m. Any child ages 1-4 years old are welcome when accompanied by an adult. We will be focusing on the language of movement and how our bodies move, perfect for that active toddler!
We are open to suggestions! We now have a suggestion box located on the large reference table in the computer area at the library. There are cards available for book suggestions and comments or suggestions about anything the library is doing. Please let us know what we can do to better serve you!
New books this week include; “The Eye of Heaven” a new Fargo Adventure by Clive Cussler, “Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good” a new Mitford Novel by Jan Karon, “Tried and True” by Mary Connealy, first in a new series, “Slow Dancing with a Stranger: Lost and Found in the Age of Alzheimer’s” by Meryl Comer and just in time for fall, “Otis and the Scarecrow” by Loren Long.
See you soon at the library!
