Citizen’s Library Advisory Board

Pursuant to Chapter 20 of the Municipal Ordinances of the City of York, the library board is responsible for reviewing policies, advising on the annual library budget preparation, and encouraging the use of the public library to promote its programs and services. These ordinances also stipulate that members of the Citizen’s Advisory Library Board must live in the city limits of York. One seat on this board is appointed/reappointed annually during a regular City Council meeting in June. Appointments for five-year terms on this board are recommended by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.

Current members with their terms in office include:

Jerry Clinch (term ends 2028)
Susan Cox (term ends 2025),
Vice-Chair Suzie Ellis (term ends 2024),
Board Secretary Jake Owens (term ends 2027),
Board Chair Mark Powers (term ends 2026)

The Citizen Advisory Board meets four times each year in January, April, July and September.  The meetings are held at the library and the public is welcome to attend.
