The library has adopted a gnome named Niko. Niko likes to roam around York to find the best places to read his book. Our Kilgore Librarians have taken pictures of Niko reading in his favorite spots. We will share our photos of Niko reading in one spot each week during June. New photos will be posted on daily Facebook and inside the library. When you think you know where Niko is come to the library and complete an entry form with your guess. Each entry will receive a treat. All correct entries will go into a grand prize drawing for two winners who will receive gift certificates for Family Bowling Nights at Sunset Bowl.
Pick up a list of things to find with your family from the library. A new list will be available each Saturday in June. When you have located all of the items listed return to the library for a treat.
The good news is that new stands have been ordered for our StoryWalk! The bad news is that they will not be delivered until the end of May which means they will not be installed until the first week in June, at best. So, this event will be postponed until the new stands are ready for us to use.
We will make a huge announcement when the StoryWalk Scramble is ready. What you will need to do is enter the Beaver Creek Trail at the Blackburn entrance, enjoy the story, Three Hens and a Peacock by Lester Laminack, and gather the letters that are on each poster. When you have unscrambled the letters bring your answer to the library to enter the contest. When you enter your guess you will receive a treat and you will be entered to win one of two Sun Theater $50 gift certificates. These generous prizes are donated by the the Friends of Kilgore Memorial Library.
