Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Kilgore Memorial Library was organized in 1994. It is a voluntary, non-profit organization interested in the promotion of good library service.

Since its inception, Friends of the Library volunteers have taken leading roles in advocacy for the library. Through the efforts of members and supporters, the Friends organization is able to provide reading, listening, video and other materials for Kilgore Memorial Library. The Friends also sponsor library-related events and programs, and help recruit volunteers for special projects and activities. Monies come from membership dues, fundraisers, and donations.

Friends of the Library Mission Statement:

Friends shall assist in identifying and engaging volunteers to work on special projects and activities as well as encourage participation in library-related events.
