Christmas Escape by Anne Perry is her 13^th seasonal novella. Charles Latterly has come to the volcanic island of Stromboli for the Christmas season. Not only does he find an awakening volcano but his guesthouse is full of unhappy people, some of whom know each other from the past. One of the guests is murdered just as the eruption begins making for a memorable Christmas for Charles!

I don’t always enjoy Perry’s novellas because they are so short but this one brings a nice mystery along with some true danger – this time more from nature than from man himself. Recommended.
