It’s Moving Time

The time has finally come we are beginning to move the books, etc. to the new Library. So the library will be closed from Thursday, April 21st through Saturday, April 30th.

If you need a book, make a copy, send a fax or need to work on the computer please give Donna a call at 402-640-4553 or leave a message at 402-582-4507! Thank you for your patience while we move into the new Library!

We will open in the new Plainview Public Library, 209 N Pine St. on Monday, May 2nd at 10:00 AM!

Our Grand Opening celebration will be Saturday, June 4th at 10:00 AM so put us on your calendar!

A reminder that the Friends of the Library Quilting Ladies are raffling off Christmas Quilts so remember to get your raffle tickets. The drawing will be held December 22nd.

Groundbreaking
The ground breaking ceremonies for the new library were held on Monday, August 10th with approximately 85 people attending. Several speakers and dignitaries were present. Many members from past library boards and foundation members also attended. Cookies and refreshments were offered after the ceremony. Chad Kment, a teacher from the Plainview Schools sang the star spangled banner while Pastor John Meraz with Zion Lutheran in Plainview did the blessing on the new ground to prepare it for the building of the new library to be completed in April of 2016.
