The ground breaking ceremonies for the new library were held on Monday, August 10th with approximately 85 people attending. Several speakers and dignitaries were present. Many members from past library boards and foundation members also attended. Cookies and refreshments were offered after the ceremony. Chad Kment, a teacher from the Plainview Schools sang the star spangled banner while Pastor John Meraz with Zion Lutheran in Plainview did the blessing on the new ground to prepare it for the building of the new library to be completed in April of 2016.

On Wednesday, July 8th from 3:55 to 5:00 PM at the Plainview Manor, Kindergarten thru 4th grade students and parents, bring your favorite book to read with a resident and enjoy a game of Bingo.
