On Your Mark, Get Set, READ

The “On Your Mark, Get Set, READ” summer reading program will be at the
NEW Public Library. The theme includes sports from around the world and
nutrition. The reading program will start June 6th and run through July 18th with
no activities on July 4th. Please stop by the Library or call 582-4507 to register!

Activities will include, reading, indoor and outdoor games, crafts, science
experiments, baseball game, swimming party, and more. There will be a guest
almost every week from the County Extension office or people from the
community. The students will be divided into groups, Pre-school (3 & 4 year
olds), K-2 grade, 3rd – 6th grade. These are only suggested age groups. The
children will set “Reading Goals.” Their goals may be minutes, book read, or
different types of genera.

Each week the children will be bringing home a challenge math appropriate
problem for their level, Bedtime Math and Summer of Numbers.
Healthy snacks will be served weekly, fruits, crackers, etc.

It’s Moving Time

The time has finally come we are beginning to move the books, etc. to the new Library. So the library will be closed from Thursday, April 21st through Saturday, April 30th.

If you need a book, make a copy, send a fax or need to work on the computer please give Donna a call at 402-640-4553 or leave a message at 402-582-4507! Thank you for your patience while we move into the new Library!

We will open in the new Plainview Public Library, 209 N Pine St. on Monday, May 2nd at 10:00 AM!

Our Grand Opening celebration will be Saturday, June 4th at 10:00 AM so put us on your calendar!

A reminder that the Friends of the Library Quilting Ladies are raffling off Christmas Quilts so remember to get your raffle tickets. The drawing will be held December 22nd.
