We are in the midst of changing our hours and hopefully adding more open hours to help better serve our community. We will know by October 1 if we are able to add hours or if our hours will be changed. In the meantime, our current schedule will look like this:
Tuesdays: 10:30 – 11 : Wee read for babies and toddlers. Teen Advisory Board will meet the 1st Tuesday of the month from 4-4:30. These are both new groups and we’re going to try them out in September and see how they go. The Teen Advisory Board (aka TAB) will help me determine which new teen books to purchase, which books to weed out of our collection, and what programs they would like to see the library hold for teens. They will also help with the Coding/STEAM group I’m hoping to get started later this fall. This group would be for ages 10-18 but younger kids might also be able to join. Thursdays: 11:30 – 12: Preschool story time. This one is an oldie but a goodie. Perfect for ages 3-5. We will read two books and do a craft or activity related to the books. We’re hoping to start an after school story time for ages 5-9. There is great research showing that this age group could greatly benefit from being read aloud to so I would like to choose a chapter book and we could read it every week or have them take turns reading aloud. This is also a work in progress. Stay tuned!
