Last spring I applied for the Emergency Connectivity Fund available to public libraries to provide hotspots and devices to patrons to use at home. This long process of applying is finally coming to an end and we are now starting the fun part…providing the Chromebooks and hotspots to our patrons! While I note that this process has been long, it actually is working out for us because we are starting this project right when we need it. We will be closed for asbestos removal in April and these devices are ready to check out right on time. Like all other materials that are checked out prior to April 1st, the Chromebooks and hotspots will be automatically renewed during the entire month of April while we are closed. When we open back up these devices will be available to check-out for two weeks.
