Come one, come all to Bob Ferguson’s “AMERICA’S HISTORY, PEOPLE AND CULTURE ON POSTAGE STAMPS.”
Event is Tuesday, April 7, 2015, 7:00 pm at the Blair Public Library
With the aid of a large-screen TV display of high-resolution stamp images, Ferguson chronicles the history of space exploration illustrated on stamps; exhibits stamps that honor the famous and introduce the not-so-famous to the public; discusses how stamps advance the understanding of diverse cultures: Native, African and Hispanic Americans; and presents pop culture milestones and icons on stamps. For general audiences – stamp collectors may also be interested.
Humanities Nebraska (HN) provides major funding for this program. HN receives support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Nebraska State Legislature, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and private donations.
