The Alliance Public Library is proud to host a number of programs for community youth of all ages:
Kids Book Club (3rd-6th grades)
The September book selection is I Survived the Attacks of September 1, 2001 by Beverly Cleary.
Group discussion is September 28 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Books are available at the circulation desk
Coding Clubs (K-3rd and 4th+)
The Alliance Public Library is pleased to announce the return of Code Club beginning Monday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 15! Space is limited and registration is currently open. Contact the library or visit the Circulation Desk for more information and to register.
Code Club will meet once a week at the Alliance Public Library in the back room:
- Grades K-3rd on Mondays from 4-5 pm with Cynthia using Code.org
- Grades 4-12th on Wednesdays from 4-5 pm with Tiffany using Minecraft Education Edition
Each week will build upon the previous lesson and regular attendance is critical to success. To ensure our limited space and resources are used to their full potential, we will consider participants unregistered if they do not attend for two consecutive weeks.
Kindergarten through fifth grade can submit an entry form for each school-related book that they read in their reading level; their prize is a Stencil Art Kit. Grades 6-12 can submit an entry form for any book they read in their reading level with Starbucks gift cards for their prizes, one $15 card for Grades 6-8 and one $15 card for Grades 9-12. Please remember that all books must be checked out from the Alliance Public Library to be entered in the drawings, with prizes courtesy of the Alliance Public Library Foundation!
