The Stastny Meeting Room is used regularly for children’s library programs, library book sales, Wilber Garden Club and Wilber City Council meetings.
The community is encouraged to use this room for educational and organizational meetings. A laptop computer, projector, screen, HDTV, DVD, and VCR are available for use in the room. Saline Eldercare, located in Wilber, periodically uses the room for workshops relevant to senior citizens.
Prints and paintings adorn the walls in the meeting room. The collection was contributed by the artists, some of whom are local residents; and other donors. Library visitors may view the artwork upon request.
History of Wilber
The town of Wilber was founded in 1873 by Charles Dana Wilber, an Ohio native who was a descendant of the Wildbores of England. E. A. Kral, a local historian, has compiled an extensive history of the Wilber family. The information is available in a file cabinet in the Czech Heritage Room.
