New Guidelines Begin Sept 8

In an effort to assure the library, its staff and patrons are prepared and protected when reopening to the public, the following guidelines have been set up.

Shortened Library Hours at this time:

Monday – Thursday 8:30 am-6:00 pm

Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm

Saturday & Sunday Closed

*Weekday mornings from 9-10 am will be for “Seniors and Vulnerable Citizens.” Please respect this time we have set aside for them.

*North and South Entrances will be open.

*Patrons will be asked to use hand sanitizer when entering the building.

*Incoming material will be dropped off at entrance and quarantined for 24 hours.

*Number of library patrons will be limited to 30.

*Patrons are encouraged to wear masks. Masks will not be provided.

*Children under 14 years of age will be allowed in the building at this time under the direct supervision of parent or individual 18 years of age. Please avoid extra handling of items.

*Patrons will keep visits limited to 30 minutes. Visits limited to one time per day.

*Public restrooms and drinking fountains will remain closed.

*No Public Telephone.

*Public computers will be limited to 30 minutes and only 2 patrons at a time. One visit per day per person. Call to make reservation. (308-345-1906)

*Newspapers, magazines will be available for limited use.

*Chairs, tables and couches will be arranged for social distancing.

*Printer and copier will be available.

*Curbside service and Homebound Delivery will still be available to those wishing to continue with these services.

*Public computers will be limited to 30 minutes and only 2 patrons at a time. One visit per day per person. Call to make reservation.

*Newspapers, magazines will be available for limited use.

*Chairs, tables and couches will be arranged for social distancing.

*Printer and copier will be available. Patrons may retrieve copies at the front desk. Copies will be made by staff with only staff touching copy machine.

*Curbside service and Homebound Delivery will still be available to those wishing to continue with this service.

CHILDREN’S BOOK WEEK

Help us celebrate CHILDREN’S BOOK WEEK (May 4-8) from afar at the McCook City Library. Keep up with your reading by checking out books from the library and receive a book week surprise. We are still doing curbside service, so give us a call, tell us what you would like, or go to our online catalog at libraries.ne.gov/mccook and choose a title. Place your order by phone (345-1906) or e-mail at mlibrary@cityofmccook.com and call us when you get here on the south side and we will bring your items out to you. Curb Side Service

The McCook City Library would like to help serve our patrons at this time by offering Curb Side Pickup. Starting Wednesday March 18 we will be offering curb side pickup for books, dvds and magazines. Hours for pickup will be 9am-4pm, Monday thru Friday.

Just call us at (345-1906) and tell us how we can help you and we will ge materials ready for you to pick up. If you could call when you arrive or tell us a time and what vehicle you will be in, we will watch for you and bring yout items out. You can use our website libraries.ne.gov/mccook and look at our online catalog to see what is available to help make your selections.

We do have the drop box for items that is located on the south side of the building. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we are here to help during this time. PHONE NUMBER 345-1906.

McCook Library Takes Precautions

With the declarations by the President of the United States, the World Health Organization, the local health officials and city government, the McCook City Library will be closed March 16-21 for precautionary measures. At that time the situation will be re-evaluated and decisions made. Fines that may be accrued during this time will be waived. Thank you for your understanding. Celebrate with Dr. Seuss

The McCook City Library will be hosting a Dr. Seuss party on Monday, March 2 from 4-5 p.m. The 678 Club will be hosting and have games, books, activities and snacks for all. Please call the Library or stop in and get registered for the party. Use that Library Card and sign-up, all attendees will receive a Cat in the Hat bag.

Library Closed for Training

The McCook City Library will be closed starting Tuesday, Feb.25th at 4 p.m. It will remain closed Wednesday, Feb. 26th and Thursday Feb. 27th due to staff training. We will be open regular hours on Friday, Feb. 28th. Thank you, McCook City Library Staff

The McCook City Library had its’ annual Christmas drawing for books, treats and surprises.

Lots and Lots of Halloween Coloring at the Library

    The McCook Public Library held it’s annual Halloween coloring contest and we had a great  and colorful turnout. All participants received a treat and Halloween bag for coloring for us.

In the Preschool age group: 1st-Niahlee Guana, 2nd-Isabelle Davidson and 3rd-Aiden McCarty. Others participating included: Kaleb Blake, Jacob Blomstedt, London Blomstedt, Jase Carman, Myah Chessmore, Emery Dickes, Taron Galarneau, Isaac Grassia, MaKinlee Grassia, LynKyn Hagan, Woodson Hagan, Abigail Howard, Alex Johnson, Neleigh Johnson, Elliot Lesko, Ellisyn Marvier, Annabelle Moser, Hazel Purvis, Kensington Schoenemann, Raiden Spencer, Lauryn Smith, Lily Uerling, Braddock White, Drake Arterburn, Cooper Davidson and Paul Neuffer.

In the Kindergarten-1st grade group: 1st-Ivy Bogardus, 2nd-Paige Allen and 3rd-Trentin Rousselle.
