Because we’re not having a Story Time next month due to our Summer Reading Program, I decided to go patriotic this month! Our book was Red, White, and Blue, The Story of the American Flag by John Herman. A great beginning book about how our flag came to be our flag, why we have a flag, and why it was designed the way it was. And of course, because it is summer, I thought patriotic flowers would be a nice touch! We had a great snack provided by Doris Laird and I do believe we had a great time! Also, the Spring Fling With a Book ended yesterday and our winner is William Griffin! As soon as I can snag him, I’ll make sure to get his picture up with his $50 Applebee’s Gift Certificate; congratulations, William! And don’t forget our Summer Reading Program starts in just a few weeks! July 5th is the kickoff and we have a great program planned for our young readers. The program runs every Tuesday in July from 1 – 3 p.m., I hope to see a lot of eager, fun-seeking, energetic faces this year! Haven’t been to the library lately? Come by to see what is new in books and movies; we have it all right here, at your Snyder Library!
