Hello, all! How about this snow, huh? Bah, humbug!
The library is all ready and decorated for Christmas! We’re also ready for… drumroll, please… our Library Patron Only Party!!! If you are a patron of the Snyder Public Library and/or have ever donated anything to us, come on down for some meeting and greeting and eating! The party is on December 19th, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, inside the library. We will have lots of heavy hors d’oeuvres, coffee, cider, juice, and water for you to enjoy! Come see the new shelves and decorations while talking and snacking with other patrons!
There’s no other gift like the gift of giving! The Snyder Lions Club is collecting toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, and other hygiene products/warm blankets/clothes to donate to Care Corps Family Services, the homeless shelter in Fremont, NE. Please help those who are less fortunate by donating daily toiletries that they need, and warm items for this winter. The Snyder Public Library is working with the Snyder Lions Club, and is now a drop-off point for your donated goods! Anything and everything helps!
Donated hygiene products should be brand-new, due to health concerns. I will collect the donations and take them to future Snyder Lions Club meetings, since I joined them back in October and will be at the meetings, anyway! We’ve gotten quite a few donations so far – I’m so proud of our little community! We’re always ready to help those in need. Please call the library if you have any questions about what to donate or when to donate it. I am here at the library during open hours, and if I’m not working here, then I’m probably working at the Snyder Mini Mart! Thank you for your donations!
The library clubs are still going strong! Chess Club remains the favorite (yay!!!) with nine young patrons attending it in November, and the Board Game Club is a close second with seven. The Writing Club is struggling a little and won’t meet again until January, so I’m not sure if we will be keeping that one or changing it. Hopefully we keep it. The few that come to it really like the writing prompts that we do!
And our Young Adult Book Club (the Magical Book Wizards) has gained two new members! We also lost one, but hey, we have four young patrons reading regularly now! And I am reading the book they picked with them. This one will be interesting – The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die by April Henry. Spooky! The Adult Book Club will not be meeting in the month of December, but we’re hopefully going to have a new book for them to pick up, anyway. Yay for reading!!!
I think that’ll be all from me for now. I hope to see you at our party or at one of our clubs!!!
Happy Holidays!
This is Liz the Librarian, signing off.
