Easter Fun at the Library!

We had an “egg”cellent day at the library on Friday, April 19. Children enjoyed decorating Easter eggs with colored pasta and listening to the book, Turkey’s Eggcellent Easter. Easter is almost here—and Turkey knows just how to celebrate. He’s going to win the eggstra-special Easter egg hunt! The only problem is that animals aren’t allowed to enter. So he and his barnyard friends come up with a top-secret plan. With his trademark disguises and a whole lot of help, Turkey goes undercover. Will his basket of tricks help him win a prize?
Speaking of Easter egg hunts and prizes, the children wrapped up story time by hunting Easter eggs. It was a fun way to start the Easter weekend.

April Fools

What do you do on April Fool’s Day? Why not visit the third grade at Elgin Public and St. Boniface schools. That is exactly what we did. We read the story, Arthurs April Fool, by Marc Brown. The story is about Arthur who worries about remembering his magic tricks for the April Fool’s Day assembly and Binky’s threats to pulverize him. The story was followed by several April Fool’s Day activities. When all activities were complete, they received a key to unlock a container which held special April Fool’s Day treats. The kids were surprised to see “brown E’s” in their container. April Fools!
