Book Review: “The Dry” by Jane Harper

Aaron Falk is back in the town he was run out of at the age of 16 for a crime he didn’t commit. He’s not here because it’s his best friends funeral, he’s here because someone knows their secret and told him to come.

Is the murder of Luke, his wife and son what it looks like? Are the deaths connected to the death of their friend, Ellie, 20 years ago? What happens when four friends are now down to two?

Because I read book 2, Force of Nature, first, I was already invested in the character of Aaron Falk and wanted to know what happened in his past. This book did not disappoint. The current crime is investigated by Aaron and the local law enforcement while vignettes from the past are mixed in. You do eventually find out what happened with Ellie and it’s not what you think at all.

I also highly recommend Force of Nature in my review on ~Monica
