On Wednesday, October 15 and Thursday, October 23, we visited Pope John’s and Elgin Public’s preschool to read a Halloween story and do a craft. Boo! The Scaredy Ghost by Minta Speller was the story we read to the kids. It is about Boo who is scared of rustling leaves, creepy shadows and even his own reflection. Boo sets out on an adventure determined to be brave. Stop by the library and check out this book to see what happens on his adventure. Afterwards we made ghosts.

This past week we visited the Kindergarten classes at Pope John and Elgin Public Schools. We read the book called ‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey. Right before Thanksgiving, a group of children take a field trip to a turkey farm. They meet Farmer Mack Nuggett and the turkeys. The children and turkeys have lots of giggles and gobbles until they find out their fate. Fortunately for the turkeys there is a happy ending. Stop by and check it out. We are reminded that there is much to be thankful for.
