Summer Writing Festival Being Held at Chadron State College

 

The Mari Sandoz Heritage Society is hosting a four-day workshop for writers of poetry, fiction and non-fiction from May 28-May 31, 2013 on the Chadron State College campus. Writers of all levels are invited to attend and explore their creativity and gain insight from noted authors.

Each workshop is led by published authors or writing professionals and sessions are open to aspiring writers of all ages (16 and up) and abilities (Students must be rising juniors or older and will need to show proof of student status to receive student registration fees.)

This is an exceptional opportunity for aspiring writers to work with published professionals and authors to sharpen their skills in a small class setting.  For more information and for registration go to : storycatcherworkshop.com !

The deadline for scholarship applications is May 6th, and the registration deadline for the intermediate/advance workshop is May 10th.

Jennifer Fowler took over the position from Caroline Chilewski as Library Director for the Loup City Public Library September 1, 2012. She has trained for her current position for the past two years taking courses through the Nebraska Library Commission, while being the library clerk. She also worked for the Loup City High School as the library media aide for a year. She moved to Loup City in 2002 from Lincoln. She now lives close to the Fowler family farm between Loup City and Arcadia with her husband, Clay, and their three sons Rylan, Trenton, and Nathan. Jennifer is excited about the opportunity to be the librarian for the community and looks forward to serving your needs!
