Nebraska Memories, a cooperative project to digitize Nebraska-related   historical and cultural heritage materials and make them freely available to researchers of all ages via the Internet,   is brought to you by the Nebraska Library Commission. Nebraska   Memories uses CONTENTdm software to house digital collections created by   Nebraska libraries, either alone or in partnership with other Nebraska   cultural heritage institutions such as museums and historical societies. The   Nebraska Memories project is funded in part by the Institute of Museum and   Library Services as well as state funding through the Nebraska Library   Commission. The database currently contains approximately   3,500+ digitized items and continues to grow each month. Eleven Nebraska   institutions are currently participating in the project. The content helps to   document the rich history of Nebraska and its residents. At this time   searchers can find material from the 1890s to the 1970s in Nebraska Memories.

The digital collection of items in the Nebraska Memories database contains   photographs, documents, artifacts,   papers, manuscripts, maps and audio files. Genealogical resources   are not included.

As the end of the school year draws closer, the library remains ever active with the comings and goings of students, parents, and teachers.  Many are making sure they have all their books returned and their fines paid.  Some are stocking up on material to hold them over for a few more weeks.  There is a new energy in the air as the kids look forward to the upcoming weeks of freedom and the teachers look forward to a break in their hectic schedules.

Just a few reminders from us here, take a moment and look through your child’s backpack after they clean our their desks or lockers.  There may be a library book stuck in between those old completed worksheets and ancient notes from the school!  Already, baseball and softball practices are underway, and we understand you will be busy with activities, family vacations,  and summer recreational events.  It helps us out a great deal if we don’t have to notify you of late books or large outstanding fines!

Also, please keep in mind that we WILL be having a fantastic Summer Reading Program once again this summer.  ‘Dig into Reading’ will be the theme.  It will begin on June 4th, and last through the first week of August.  Have a wonderful summer!
