Activity Time for the older children concluded on Thursday, June 29. We had approximately 28 children participate. The hour included a friendship salad, games and snacks. We enjoyed having Erica Brown from the Antelope County Extension office leading the activity times.

Story time wrapped up on June 28. We have had approximately 40 children attend story time throughout the month of June. On Wednesday, June 28, we ended with the book Holey Moley by Bethan Clarke and played some games. We all enjoyed the s’mores relay, feed the bear, duck, duck goose and roasting marshmallows. Thanks to all the moms for helping with the games.

We also would like to thank Tenley, Aubrey, McKenna, Chloe and Molly for helping with the crafts. A huge thank you to the moms who provided snacks for story time. It was greatly appreciated.

The Library will be Closed Monday, July 3^rd and Tuesday, July 4^th in observance of 4^th of July. Happy Independence Day!

Summer Reading Challenge will end on July 7. The last day to shop at the Camp Store will be July 12. Remember the maximum number of Book Bucks you can earn is 30. Keep Reading.

In a world where you can be anything    Be Kind.   Camp Kindness is the theme for our Summer Reading program that continues through the month of June.  We have 52 children in preschool to first grade registered for story time. For our first Story Time, the children made kindness monsters after listening to the story Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller.  If you are out and about, you might see the Kindness Monsters in various store windows.  The children wanted to share that we should all be kind to one another.  To finish out the first week of summer reading, we read the story Bear Hug by Jean Reidy.  On Thursday, June 8, the students in grades 2 – 5 gathered for activity time lead by Erica Brown, intern with the Antelope County Extension Office.   We are excited that we have had such a great turnout for the beginning of our summer reading program. Below are pictures from Story Time and Activity time.

Story time for ages 3 to six (preschool to 1st grade) will start Monday, June 5, from 10:00 to 10:45 at Elgin Public Library. Come join us for stories, crafts and some fun at “Camp Kindness”.
