Christmas Movie!

On Saturday, December 10, the Elgin Public Library hosted a movie.  Fifteen children came to watch Santa Paws and eat popcorn.  We were so excited to have them come spend the morning with us.   If you need a good book to read over the holidays, come check out Nora Roberts, Island of Glass.  We also have two new children’s books that would be great for parents and grandparents to share with your children;  Give Please a Chance by Bill O’Reilly and Take Heart, My Child:  A Mother’s Dream by Ainsley Earhardt.

There is a change in hours on Friday, December 23.  We will be open from 9:00 to 1:00 and closed on Monday, December 26, 2016.  Also on Friday, December 30, we will be open from 9:00 to 1:00.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your Elgin Public Library.  The elementary Student Council from Elgin Public School decorated for the Christmas season.  Come check it out and a book or two.

The 2nd graders from EPS also stopped by for a story and then made a Christmas ornament.

Several new books have arrived for your reading enjoyment.  They include – Night School A Jack Reacher Novel by Lee Child, Turbo Twenty Three by Janet Evanovich, No Man’s Land by David Baldacci, and Cross the Line (Alex Cross) by James Patterson.  If you are traveling or just want to listen to a good book we have over 24 new titles in our audio book section.  With money from the Libri grant we have also purchased a number of books for elementary and middle school age children.  We would love to have the kids stop by and check them out.  Also for the kids and in keeping with the spirit of the holidays we will be showing a Christmas movie on Saturday morning December 10 beginning at 10 o’clock.  Snacks will be provided.  Hope to see you there.

Our regular hours are Monday 5-7 p.m., Tuesday 1-5 p.m., Wednesday 1-7 p.m. and Thursday and Friday 1-5 p.m.  Library doors are a gateway to anywhere.
