On Thursday, December 20, we visited the Kindergarten room at Elgin Public School. The story, The Christmas Selfie Contest by Rosie Greening was read to the class. Then they got to make Alfie the elf from the story. It was fun spending time with the Kindergarten class.
On Thursday, December 13, we visited St. Boniface’s Kindergarten class. The Christmas Selfie Contest was read to the class. The story is about Santa holding a Christmas selfie competition, and one particular elf is determined to win! But what will he do when things don’t go to plan? After the story, the class made elves.

Lego League will be held Monday, December 17, from 4:00 to 5:00 at the library.

The library’s outreach project for November took us to the Preschool classrooms at Saint Boniface and Elgin Public School. Mrs. Gunderson read the books, Ten Turkeys In the Road and Thanks for Thanksgiving. Following story time the children made fruit loop turkeys.
Sunday, November 18 the Library hosted a “Family Game Day” at the Elgin Community Center. Families enjoyed an afternoon of games and snacks. The library was able to purchase the games with a grant from Thrivent.

To celebrate National Game and Puzzle Week, Elgin Public Library will be hosting Family Game Day. Families are encouraged to come spend some time together playing games. The library has several board games to choose from or you can bring your own. Refreshments will be served.

Sixteen girls from grades Kindergarten through fourth were treated to a Spa Day at Elgin Public Library. EPPJ Volleyball girls volunteered their time to give the girls a facial, manicure, and a pedicure.

A fun event planned for Sunday, September 23, is Spa Day at the library. All girls in grades Kindergarten through fourth are invited to attend. Reservations need to be made by Friday, September 21 as space is limited. The Wolfpack Volleyball girls will be assisting with the event.
