Camp Kindness

In a world where you can be anything    Be Kind.   Camp Kindness is the theme for our Summer Reading program that continues through the month of June.  We have 52 children in preschool to first grade registered for story time. For our first Story Time, the children made kindness monsters after listening to the story Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller.  If you are out and about, you might see the Kindness Monsters in various store windows.  The children wanted to share that we should all be kind to one another.  To finish out the first week of summer reading, we read the story Bear Hug by Jean Reidy.  On Thursday, June 8, the students in grades 2 – 5 gathered for activity time lead by Erica Brown, intern with the Antelope County Extension Office.   We are excited that we have had such a great turnout for the beginning of our summer reading program. Below are pictures from Story Time and Activity time.

Earth Day

In honor of Earth Day on April 22, we visited the first and second graders at St. Boniface school on Thursday, April 20. We read The Lorax by Dr. Seuss. This story teaches kids to treat the planet with kindness and speak up for others. The story tells us that one small seed or child can make a difference. We ended story time with a craft of the Earth.

National Library Week

Did you know your library does more than just loan books? We have DVDs, puzzles, public computers, a printer, fax machine and audiobooks. There are games to play at the library and Makerspace (Closet of Fun). The library has programs such as Lego League, Book Club, and a new addition that is great for meetings.

There is so much more to the story at your library!

Book Talk With Chris Stamp

“I love the outdoors would be an understatement” These are the words of Chris Stamp. An evening was spent listening to Chris as he shared how his book “Just me….In a Tree” came to be. The book is filled with stories and pictures of his fishing, hunting, trapping and camping adventures he experienced with his family and friends.

“Until next time… have fun out there!”

Story Time at St. Boniface School

On Tuesday, February 21, we visited the Kindergarten class at St. Boniface for story time. We returned on Thursday February 23 to visit the Pre-Schoolers. Both classes were treated to the story, The Snow Beast by Chris Judge. Beast had been robbed! And so had the whole village. Throughout the story the students had fun trying to help beast solve the mystery. While this was fun, making their own snow beast was probably the best part of story time for both classes!

St. Boniface Kindergarten Class were all smiles showing off their snow beasts.

St. Boniface Pre-school had a great time making their own snow beasts.
